As we approach the end of yet another challenging year, Glei and I want you to know that you and your family's well-being are ever on our mind.
This is the time of year when we offer you our annual reminder to prioritize REST, REJUVENATION and most importantly, LIFESTYLE BALANCE.
You may be aware that Glei and I have been seeing clients from around the world for the past 20+ years - and not just for trichotillomania.
In fact, we spent years working with a much wider variety of anxiety and related behavioral challenges before ever saw our first trichotillomania client back in 2006.
These included fears, phobias, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), OCD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxieties, generalized anxieties, you name it - and a few conditions you've probably never heard of before.
And if there has been any one single overarching observation that has emerged from having worked with nearly 1000 clients from all over the world – all with an incredible variety of symptoms - it is this:
The more out of control a person's lifestyle, the more likely they are to be symptomatic.
Another way of saying this is the more imbalanced a person's lifestyle, the more likely they are to be symptomatic in one form or another.
Thus, BALANCE is the key to a happy, healthy, symptom-free lifestyle... Some of this, some of that, but not too much of anything.
While clients begin their work with us, they THINK all they're going to get from us is to learn how to stop pulling their hair.
Oh, they'll get that.
But that's just the beginning.
What they DON'T know to expect when they start with us are the powerful life lessons they're going to encounter along the way.
... The most important of which is the one we share with you once again this holiday season...
Take time out for yourself. Find time to sit and just BE.
Remember, we're human beings, not human "doings".
Achievement is great... Being productive is awesome... IF the rest of your life feels awesome.
If it doesn't - or if you or a loved one suffers from anxiety, body aches and pains, stomach problems, headaches, neck tightness - or hair-pulling...
Those are the signs your caring, loving subconscious mind is giving you to call your attention to one or more things in your life that needs to change.
Why not commit to re-tooling your life in 2022?
Why not take the time to carefully examine the parts of your life that serve you - versus those that clearly do not?
Because when you make that effort, and then you TAKE ACTION to change what needs to change in your life, you move towards restoring balance...
And balance is the key to a happy, healthy lifestyle.
